Emmanuelle Chriqui has landed her biggest post-”Entourage” feature role yet, as the thesp is in final talks to star opposite Luke Wilson in the indie sports comedy “Million Dollar Man.”
Announced at Sundance, the project focuses on a down-on-his-luck route driver (Wilson) for a soda company who’s given a second chance in life as a football kicker. Chriqui, best known for playing Sloan McQuewick on HBO’s “Entourage,” will play the love interest who helps whip Wilson’s character into shape and guides him to redemption.
Also coming aboard is comedian Bobby Lee, who will play the nemesis.
Todd Slater of Slater Brothers Entertainment is producing along with John Gatpandan, Alex Schrader and Anderson Hinsch of Portofino Pictures. Scott Marshall, son of Garry Marshall, is directing from a script by Schrader.
According to an article on Shalom Life, Emmanuelle Chriqui is set to star in a new film called “Standby”. Emmanuelle plays the lead character Gigi and its scheduled for a release sometime this year.
Gigi Robinson is a beautiful woman in her late 20′s who has worked very hard to put her boyfriend through medical school and wants to get married, have kids and live the fairy-tale life. Unfortunately, she’s in a holding-pattern on standby because her boyfriend won’t commit. Ironically, while flying standby at an airport she meets Race Monroe, a successful businessman in his 50′s who is funny, charming and shares her values. There’s one small problem: He’s married, has kids and his own baggage to deal with. With a crew of hysterically zany characters surrounding Race and Gigi, it puts them on a collision course of an overnight stay that will change their lives forever.

In the film, Vince Ferro is a man in desperate circumstances. While on a quick fix-it job, he steals an envelope containing instructions for a mysterious job that promises a potential fortune. He assumes a false identity and follows the instructions, only to find himself a numbered participant in an underworld Russian roulette competition, where gamblers place bets on who’ll survive when the trigger is pulled.
The stakes are high, but the payout is more than he can resist. Many are competing for the first time, and a precious few have even returned to play again, but are his odds any better than other players in this most deadly game? What will it take to be the last man standing?

In an early announcement to retailers, Starz/Anchor Bay is working on ’5 Days of War’ for Blu-ray on November 29.
