*NSYNC’s Lance Bass and Entourage’s Emmanuelle Chriqui are in a battle to see who can raise the most money for their favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Colon Cancer Canada. The Power of 2 (www.power-of-2.org), a charity initiative dedicated to unlocking celebrity power for social good, has wrangled the star studded pair to duke it out for their debut American P2 match-up — and there’s a catch, the loser has to perform a crazy stunt.
The Power of 2 allows celebrities to go beyond the red carpet and use social media as a tool to make meaningful social impact and educate their fans. And, the bet will make things very interesting. Fans can donate $2 or more to Emmanuelle and Lance’s favorite charity at www.power-of-2.org as many times as they would like up till midnight on Thursday, June 14 to see who will be crowned the Power of 2 champion.
Oooh! Competition for a good cause? We likey.
Both charities will win, but the celebrity loser will have to cash in during a very public dare. If Emmanuelle wins, Lance will dress up as PooFu the dog (a costume he wore for one of his first jobs in Laurel, Mississippi) and Emmanuelle will walk him through LA’s Runyon Canyon, the area’s most popular hiking and dog walking spot.
“I lost my mother to colon cancer at a very young age and my father continues to battle the disease,” states Emmanuelle. “This is a cause very close to my heart, and it’s a preventable cancer if caught in time. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to promote awareness and take the shame out of getting tested. And this spring I’m looking forward to this Power of 2 competition, earning the most donations and taking Lance on a good long walk.”
But if Lance wins, Emmanuelle will have to hit the stage and sing with Steel Panther at the House of Blues on Sunset Boulevard and face that all too common fear, even for an accomplished actor, singing in public!
“I know Emmanuelle has a real fear of singing in public, so if I’m going to win this Power of 2 wager I want to see her hit the stage,” says Lance. “And this is such a great, and easy, opportunity for all of us to use social media for good. My charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, does more than good. They change the lives of kids and families all over the world, every single day.”
The Power of 2 is win-win-win: Both charities get a big check to support their great work, Emmanuelle and Lance have fun online conversations with their fans and colleagues, and fans get an opportunity to engage and support their favorite celebrity through an important social cause. Get social Twitter @PWROF2 and Facebook That’s the Power of 2.
May the best fundraiser win!
TRON fans eager to return to The Grid in TRON 3 are going to have to be patient, seeing how production on that threequel (still not a certainty) isn’t expected to begin until 2014 at the earliest. In the meantime, you’ll be able to take a trip back to the land of light-cycles and identity discs with the upcoming animated TV series, TRON: Uprising.
Uprising bridges the narrative gap between the original TRON movie and TRON: Legacy. Based on early footage from the show (which looks quite gorgeous), it imitates the aesthetic of the latter film, rather than the 1980s original – or, say, takes a hybrid approach, like that in Daft Punk’s “Derezzed” music video.
The TRON TV spinoff follows Beck (voice of Elijah Wood), an idealistic, young program who leads a revolution against the imperialistic reign of Clu (Fred Tatasciore, reprising his role from the TRON: Evolution video game). Serving as Beck’s mentor is the legendary Tron (Bruce Boxleitner), who helps the would-be revolutionary become a wise and capable player in the struggle to restore freedom to the people (programs?) of The Grid.
Rounding out the voice cast for TRON: Uprising are fan-faves like Paul Reubens and Lance Henricksen (Aliens), along with Mandy Moore, Emmauelle Chriqui, Reginald VelJohnson and Nathan Corddry, among others.
TRON: Uprising begins airing on Disney XD next month on June 7th, 2012, following the premiere of a half-hour “prelude” titled Tron: Uprising – Beck’s Beginning on the Disney Channel on May 18th.
Some new information about Emmanuelle’s role on “The Mentalist” has been revealed by Mega Buzz!
What else can you tell me about Patrick Jane’s new love interest on The Mentalist? — Christine
ADAM: Creator Bruno Heller wants to be clear about one thing: Loralei (Emmanuelle Chriqui) is no ordinary cocktail waitress, and as such viewers should take this relationship seriously. “It’s certainly not a fling and it’s not a spur-of-the-moment booty call or anything like that,” Heller says. “She comes into Jane’s life at a very, very low ebb. He’s at a moment when he really needs a helping hand and a little ray of light, and she provides that.”
Entourage stunner Emmanuelle Chriqui is joining The Mentalist as a major new love interest for Simon Baker’s Jane, TVLine has learned exclusively.
The actress has been cast in the recurring role of Loraliei Martins, a mysterious new woman in Jane’s life who may be too good to be too good to be true.
Chriqui is set to debut in the CBS drama’s May 17 finale and then return for at least five episodes next season.
According to an article on Shalom Life, Emmanuelle Chriqui is set to star in a new film called “Standby”. Emmanuelle plays the lead character Gigi and its scheduled for a release sometime this year.
Gigi Robinson is a beautiful woman in her late 20’s who has worked very hard to put her boyfriend through medical school and wants to get married, have kids and live the fairy-tale life. Unfortunately, she’s in a holding-pattern on standby because her boyfriend won’t commit. Ironically, while flying standby at an airport she meets Race Monroe, a successful businessman in his 50’s who is funny, charming and shares her values. There’s one small problem: He’s married, has kids and his own baggage to deal with. With a crew of hysterically zany characters surrounding Race and Gigi, it puts them on a collision course of an overnight stay that will change their lives forever.
Emmanuelle Chriqui has ranked #25 on the AskMen.com annual poll of top 99 women for 2012!
2010’s “Most Desirable Woman” dropped a few spots in last year’s Top 99, but nobody is disputing that Emmanuelle Chriqui is still as sought after as ever. The gorgeous Montreal native returned to Entourage for its final season, during which Eric (Kevin Connolly) tried to win his former fiancee back. We don’t blame him. For some reason, the stunning actress still remains woefully underrated outside of premium cable. After having a low-key past few years (except for a crazy-hot lap dance in Elektra Luxx), Chriqui will hopefully see more screen time if the planned Entourage movie pans out.
Actress Emmanuelle Chriqui, star of the hit HBO show “Entourage,” joined a popular petition campaign on Change.org calling on Apple to make products with conflict-free minerals sourced from eastern Congo. Her signature joins those of more than 50,000 people around the world.
“I want the electronics that I use to be conflict-free,” said Chriqui, upon announcing her support for the campaign. “Apple is already a leader in the field and could make the first-ever conflict-free electronics with minerals from Congo.”
Chriqui, a longtime champion of the Raise Hope For Congo campaign at the Enough Project, announced her support of the campaign on Tuesday on Twitter, tweeting the following to her 76,000 followers:
Hi..pls RT I just asked #Apple CEO #TimCook to make a conflict-free iPhone. Help me end conflict in Congo http://chn.ge/tmkcfZ#+changexxE.
Chriqui sent the tweet shortly after learning that Delly Mawazo Sesete, a native of Congo who has fought human rights abuses in the mining industry despite violence and death threats, had launched the campaign on Change.org.
“Apple is perfectly positioned to be the first company to create a Congo conflict-free phone,” said Sesete when he launched the campaign on Change.org. “But they must use minerals from Congo that further stability and economic development and don’t use slave labor or fund mass atrocities.”
Within weeks, more than 50,000 people have joined Sesete’s campaign, which received coverage from CBS, New York Daily News, BBC, The Guardian, and other major news outlets. Click here to join the campaign!

In the film, Vince Ferro is a man in desperate circumstances. While on a quick fix-it job, he steals an envelope containing instructions for a mysterious job that promises a potential fortune. He assumes a false identity and follows the instructions, only to find himself a numbered participant in an underworld Russian roulette competition, where gamblers place bets on who’ll survive when the trigger is pulled.
The stakes are high, but the payout is more than he can resist. Many are competing for the first time, and a precious few have even returned to play again, but are his odds any better than other players in this most deadly game? What will it take to be the last man standing?
Bonus features on 13 Blu-ray™ and DVD will include a behind-the-scenes featurette, and the theatrical trailer.
Emmanuelle Chriqui and her former “Entourage” co-stars Perrey Reeves and Constance Zimmer will be hosting the Environmental Media Awards this year! The show will be taking place on Saturday, October 15th and you can watch the show live at facebook.com/EMAOnline.
In an early announcement to retailers, Starz/Anchor Bay is working on ‘5 Days of War’ for Blu-ray on November 29.
This action-packed international thriller from acclaimed director Renny Harlin (‘Die Hard 2,’ ‘Cliffhanger’) is based on the true events of a renegade American journalist, his cameraman and a local woman caught behind enemy lines during the devastating five day war between Russian and the Georgian Republic.
From writers Mikko Alanne and David Battle, ‘5 Days of War’ features an all-star cast including Rupert Friend (‘Young Victoria,’ ‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’), Emmanuelle Chriqui (HBO’s “Entourage,” ‘You Don’t Mess With The Zohan’), Richard Coyle (‘Prince of Persia’), Andy Garcia (‘City Island,’ ‘Oceans 12′), Val Kilmer (‘Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,’ ‘Batman Forever’), and proves director Harlin to still be the master of the high-octane action genre.
The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 soundtrack, and there doesn’t seem to be any supplements on this release.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $29.97.
