This year Brita FilterForGood is bringing the Sundance Film Festival to you through the FilterForGood Film Project. Brita has teamed up with The Sundance Institute and the Environmental Media Association (EMA) to give people who are passionate about making the world a better place a chance to win a trip to the 2011 Sundance Film Festival for the premiere of a film inspired by you!
FilterForGood, a partnership between Brita and Nalgene, began as a way to motivate people to make small changes to protect the planet, such as filling a reusable bottle with filtered tap water. Since 2007, more than 200 million disposable bottles have been kept out of landfills thanks to those who have taken the FilterForGood pledge, proving that small changes really can make a big difference. Through the Brita FilterForGood Film Project, Brita and its partners want to empower people to add their voice and vision to the movement.
Now through October 8, visit Brita FilterForGood on Facebook to submit an environmental challenge facing your community. Share how you would like to motivate and educate others to take action to meet the challenge.
Submissions will be voted on by the Facebook community and the top three most compelling stories will become the inspiration for short films directed by Sundance Film Festival filmmakers — Jeremy Konner, Amy Grappell and Destin Daniel Cretton — to be screened at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and air on the Sundance Channel.
Actress Emmanuelle Chriqui, a member of the EMA Young Hollywood Board, is lending her voice to the project by helping to raise awareness of how films can inspire a path to a healthier planet.
“Film is a powerful tool that can be used to educate people about environmental issues and get them to take action,” said Chriqui. “I’m really excited to see what great ideas come from the FilterForGood Film Project.”

Attendees at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival will take part in the FilterForGood movement firsthand. With Brita and Nalgene’s help, more than 40,000 Festival attendees will have the chance to make an immediate difference by carrying limited-edition FilterForGood Nalgene bottles and refilling at Brita Hydration Hubs located throughout the Festival.
